Your Responsibilities:We are looking for a proficient and seasoned relational database administrator to become an integral part of our Infrastructure and Platform team, responsible for overseeing our extensive database infrastructure.
In this role, you will manage the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of our database systems, including SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, or CockroachDB. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our database infrastructure.
Key Duties:- Design, implement, and maintain database systems such as SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, or CockroachDB on both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Install, configure, and upgrade database software and associated components.
- Automate database configuration, maintenance tasks, and monitoring through scripting and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
- Monitor and enhance database performance, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Support client database functions, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) services.
- Generate management reports, customer reports, and data extracts.
- Conduct database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations.
- Develop and uphold database security protocols to ensure data privacy and integrity.
- Provide support and guidance to developers and team members on database-related matters.
- Engage in capacity planning and performance tuning initiatives.
- Stay informed about emerging database technologies and best practices, recommending enhancements to improve system performance and efficiency.
Demonstrated experience as a Database Administrator, managing databases such as SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, or CockroachDB.
Strong grasp of database concepts, principles, and best practices.
Proficient in crafting and optimizing SQL queries.
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization strategies.
Familiarity with backup and recovery protocols, replication, and high availability approaches.
Solid understanding of database security and access management.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, effectively collaborating within a team environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, PostgreSQL Certified Engineer) are advantageous.
