Bakery Assistant

Hare Foods Ltd. is seeking a skilled Bakery Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for preparing dough, batters, and icings for a variety of baked goods.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods according to recipes or special customer orders
- Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies
- Bake mixed dough and batters
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
- Prepare special orders
- Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods
- Draw up production schedules
- Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods
- Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
- Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees
- Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth
- Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers
- Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities
