Position Overview:
The Senior Product Owner for KYC Solutions plays a crucial role in guiding one or more development teams to deliver valuable, customer-centric product increments. This involves collaborating with fellow Product Owners and upper management to adhere to a unified product vision, maintaining a prioritized product backlog, addressing delivery challenges, and continuously evaluating customer feedback. The Product Owner should consistently seek ways to enhance value, assess improvements in product or delivery processes, foster a positive work culture, and uphold Agile principles of transparency, collaboration, and engagement. This position primarily supports KYC initiatives for AMCB (US) while being based in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement strategic planning processes for KYC (Know Your Customer) products to set priorities and drive transformation.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle management of business capabilities to effectively support the KYC program and develop long-term Product/Business Capability Roadmaps.
- Contribute to the overall health of the KYC product group, including OKRs, maturity metrics, financial performance, capacity, KPIs, and KRIs.
- Challenge conventional approaches and provide innovative leadership in KYC control solutions that meet regulatory standards while delivering exceptional customer and employee experiences.
- Collaborate with senior business leaders to ensure product capabilities and solutions align with functional requirements, supported by the AVP of KYC Engineering.
- Facilitate team mobilization and alignment, manage interdependencies, and prioritize initiatives with partners to maximize value.
- Proactively align with the three lines of defense strategy and cultivate strong relationships with AML Compliance, Lines of Business, and other control functions to fulfill regulatory obligations.
- Assist in regulatory examinations, audits, and other relevant control activities related to KYC Products.
- Oversee vendor services and manage risks associated with KYC Products.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in AML/KYC Customer Due Diligence (ACAMS or CAMS certification preferred)
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification or equivalent Agile delivery experience
- Ability to support swift, straightforward, and agile decision-making processes
- Skills in conflict resolution, partnership building, and maintaining composure under pressure
- Technologically proficient with demonstrated experience in technical project environments
- Experience managing customer and/or commercial portfolios
- Financial management acumen
- Strategic development capabilities
- Business process enhancement experience
- Senior-level relationship management skills
- Experience in people management or team development is advantageous
