Role Summary:

The Operations Manager is accountable for the overall effectiveness of the business units, based in a designated location. This role involves achieving key corporate objectives and supervising daily operations while driving sales revenue through managing existing customer relationships and pursuing new prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies, promoting safe work practices among all employees.
  • Facilitate coaching and development for the team, ensuring effective succession planning.
  • Foster a positive work environment aligned with the company’s values and best practices.
  • Oversee daily branch operations to guarantee tasks are performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Territory Manager to evaluate branch finances and operations for enhanced productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Plan and execute customer interactions to deliver optimal service levels, focusing on business retention and expansion.
  • Manage product ordering and inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and oversee the monthly inventory reconciliation.
  • Provide product expertise and solutions to both customers and team members as necessary.
  • Ensure the maintenance of branch property and equipment, keeping all assets in good working condition.
  • Regularly liaise with various stakeholders, including the Territory Manager and internal departments.
  • Engage in the bidding process for company proposals, analyzing outcomes to refine future submissions.
  • Address customer concerns regarding pricing and deliveries, ensuring calm and constructive discussions to maintain relationships.
  • Assign and coordinate employee tasks, conduct interviews, and manage hiring processes; oversee employee evaluations and establish work priorities.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree and/or over 5 years of progressive experience in operations management, business accounting, marketing, or sales.
  • Desirable industry knowledge in energy distribution.
  • Proven experience in leading and supervising teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership ability while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Safety-focused mindset.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for business purposes.
  • Availability for after-hours and on-call responsibilities.
