Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Gas Station Cashier to join our team at Mobil Station. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service while managing transactions efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced gas bar setting, where multitasking and attention to detail are crucial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the cash register and handle various payment methods including cash, cheques, and credit/debit cards.
  • Scan items and process transactions accurately.
  • Receive payments for goods and services, ensuring correct amounts are collected.
  • Calculate daily or shift payments received and reconcile with total sales.
  • Engage in suggestive selling to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness by stocking shelves and keeping the counter area tidy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and greet customers warmly.
  • Calculate foreign currency exchanges when necessary.
  • Verify customer age for the sale of restricted items such as lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products.
Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with electronic cash registers and Interac machines.
  • Ability to use price scanners effectively.
Safety and Security
  • Must pass a criminal record check.
Transportation Requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle is necessary.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks.
