Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary

The Quality Inspector – Level 1 position is responsible for ensuring the quality of products and assisting with quality audits. This role involves inspecting products, testing and sampling raw materials and incoming products to ensure compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct first-off inspection, receiving inspection, and in-process inspection to ensure product quality
  • Perform product and LPA audits to identify quality issues
  • Utilize manual gauging and operate CMM as needed to inspect products
  • Inspect incoming material per receiving inspection requirements
  • Sort products based on visual aids
  • Complete necessary forms and paperwork
  • Understand TS processes for nonconforming material, identification, and inspection processes
  • Perform other assignments necessary to support internal and external customers
  • Adhere to all H&S, environmental laws and procedures
  • Measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards
  • Use technical skills and knowledge to identify cause of problems
  • Use computer applications to monitor quality

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent general education
  • Previous Machining experience
  • Knowledge of Histograms, X and R charts, Cpk
  • Familiarity with TS-16949 requirements considered an asset
  • Able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings
  • Able to use measuring equipment effectively

  • Ability to resolve conflicts and determine reasons for errors in products
  • Possess interpersonal skills to interact with supervisor to coordinate work and exchange information
  • Ability to work independently, coordinating work with work of others as needed
  • Maintain continuous learning in order to keep up with new developments in field
