Job Summary
Aecon is seeking a skilled Painter to join our team in the Cambridge Fabrication Shop. As a Painter, you will be responsible for applying coatings to various industrial equipment and structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply coatings using conventional, airless, and plural equipment.
- Prepare materials for spray application, including masking, sanding, and cleaning.
- Read and understand drawings and dimensions.
- Follow coating technical data sheet specifications.
- Use wet film and dry film gauges.
- Familiarize yourself with various types of coatings, including zincs, epoxies, and polyurethanes.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Handle materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, buggies, and carts.
- Receive and identify incoming materials.
- Clean and prepare shop areas.
- Assist other craft workers.
- Be willing to learn new skills, as Aecon provides training for this position.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Fall Arrest certification is an asset.
- WHMIS certification is an asset.
- Overhead Crane Training is an asset.
- Forklift Training is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use stairs and ladders.
- Ability to work extended hours, occasionally in outdoor weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
