We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health. As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency/Medical/Hospice department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals in emergency, medical, and hospice settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to patients in emergency, medical, and hospice units.
- Collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including physical and emotional evaluations, to identify their needs and develop effective care plans.
- Develop and implement nursing interventions to promote patient health, safety, and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols that promote patient-centered care.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One year's recent experience providing emergency nursing care in an acute/rural hospital setting.
- Current certificate in CPR.
- Current cardiac monitoring skills.
- Current emergency assessment and medical assessment skills.
- Ability to determine and deal with emergency situations and make appropriate clinical decisions.
- Ability to initiate intravenous therapy and maintain I.V. lines.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families/caregivers, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to promote person-centered care that demonstrates empathy, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, and patient advocacy.
