School District No. 42 (SD42) is seeking qualified French Immersion Teachers for temporary positions in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. The district provides K-12 educational services in 22 elementary schools, six secondary schools, and two alternate schools.

Job Summary:

We are looking for experienced French Immersion Teachers to join our team. The successful candidates will possess a certification with the Teacher Regulation Branch, experience and/or training with teaching French Immersion, and proficiency in verbal and written French communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach French Immersion classes to students in grades 4/5 and 6/7
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve student outcomes

Requirements:

  • Certification with the Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Experience and/or training with teaching French Immersion
  • Education degree which includes methodology coursework in French second language acquisition
  • Proficiency in verbal and written French communication
