Associate Director, Application Design

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Application Design to join our team at Sun Life Financial. As a key member of our IT organization, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design and implementation of applications.
Job Summary:The Associate Director, Application Design will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of applications, ensuring that they meet the business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget. This role will also involve providing technical guidance and support to development teams, as well as collaborating with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design and implementation of applications, ensuring that they meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance and support to development teams, including code reviews and technical mentoring.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business needs, and develop solutions to meet those needs.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents and technical specifications.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, and apply that knowledge to improve the design and implementation of applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in application development, with a focus on technical leadership and design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with development teams, stakeholders, and other technical professionals.
- Strong technical skills, including experience with relational databases, ETL tools, and distributed application architectures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with C++ and/or C#.
- Experience working with APIs.
- Experience with investments administration systems.
- Experience with vendors and ASPs.
- Experience in designing systems that use XML, XSLT or JSON.
