About the Role:

Vancity is seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and planning to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Financial Modeling: Lead the development and maintenance of financial models, including stress testing and scenario planning.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with senior leaders to understand business needs and provide financial analysis and planning support.
  • Team Development: Develop and lead a team of financial analysts to support financial planning and analysis.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to ensure the long-term sustainability of Vancity.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution (or equivalent)
  • Designation: Chartered Professional Accountant (Canada) designation
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience at the management level or higher
  • Skills: Strong technical accounting/finance skills, including thorough knowledge of IFRS standards; research and analytical skills; and problem-solving and decision-making skills.
