Job Summary

StandardAero is seeking a highly skilled Computer Systems Engineer to join our Central Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will design and develop data acquisition and control systems for testing gas turbine engines.

About the Role

In this exciting and challenging position, you will work closely with computer, electrical, and mechanical engineers to create systems that are accurate, maintainable, and easy to operate. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Designing and developing software for Engine Test Cell data acquisition and control using C#, SQL, and LabVIEW.
  2. Integrating multiple data acquisition devices into a system capable of monitoring temperatures, pressures, rotational frequency, vibration, fluid flow rates, and other characteristics of a live running engine.
  3. Supporting current engine test systems by responding to test failures, implementing new feature requests, and updating due to test requirement change or strategic initiatives.
  4. Communicating with stakeholders, OEMs, and co-workers to gather needs/wants and translate them into technical requirements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A university degree in Computer Engineering with experience in software development, control systems, or data acquisition.
  2. Knowledge of software design and documentation processes.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio,.NET.
  4. Knowledge of database architecture and design.
  5. Familiarity with software development and build tools.
  6. Strong capabilities for organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication.
  7. Experience with troubleshooting technical problems and providing solutions.
  8. Ability to travel to various locations, including the United States, Canada, South Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
  9. Ability and willingness to travel up to 35% of the time.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

  1. Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW.
  2. Experience with C# and SQL.
  3. Experience using Data Acquisition Systems to acquire and analyze data.
  4. Experience with control systems.
