About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at GHD, a leading global consulting firm. As a key member of our transportation team, you will play a critical role in delivering complex projects and providing expert advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage projects, including project management, field investigations, engineering analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepare and review technical proposals and reports, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Conduct site investigations and construction/materials testing and inspections, providing expert advice to clients.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets, maintaining excellent client relationships.
  • Support business development and client maintenance through client sourcing, proposal preparation, and qualification packages.
  • Provide recommendations to clients for materials testing results that are not in compliance with specifications.
  • Offer expertise and support for geotechnical and construction materials aspects of projects throughout the design, tendering, and construction stages.
Requirements
  • University graduate with a degree in geotechnical, geological, or civil (geotechnical) engineering.
  • Professional Engineering Ontario designation (P.Eng.) is mandatory.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the geo-engineering field and consulting engineering in Ontario.
  • Experience in geo/environmental, construction engineering, and materials engineering is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead and cooperate with a team.
  • Strong analytical/technical, project management, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency with current geotechnical software applications, including GeoStudio.
  • Desire to provide excellent practical client service and a commitment to technical excellence.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time, delivering on time and on budget.
  • Availability to commute or relocate to Peterborough or Whitby, ON.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License (G) is mandatory.
  • Ability and willingness to be mobile and travel for work when and as needed.
