Job Title: Social Work Faculty Position

We are seeking a qualified individual to teach a course on social work with families in our School of Social Work.

Course Description:

This course will examine and apply family theory and practice models, including a critical look at societal definitions of and expectations for families.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum MSW, PhD in progress or completed preferred
  • Experience required in direct practice and commitment to the School's philosophical approach to social work
  • Previous experience in teaching/TA'ing and in field instruction in the subject area would be an asset
Job Details:

This is a sessional faculty position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a course on social work with families.

The course will be offered in the Fall/Winter 2024-25 session, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach a total of 3 units per section.

The projected enrollment for this course is 65-70 students, and the successful candidate will be supported by 4 TAs at 130 hours each.

The course will be taught on Thursdays, 7:00pm-10:00pm, starting Thursday January 9, 2025, and ending Thursday April 3, 2025.

The location for this course will be Central Campus.

The wage rate for this position is $8,056.37, and the successful candidate may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement.
