Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at S. Young Enterprises Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, operating CADD and other computer software systems, and providing economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates of construction costs, including labour, materials, and equipment
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to create accurate estimates and reports
  • Conduct site visits to gather data and information for estimates
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Prepare and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure project stays within budget
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate estimates and project timelines
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of CADD and other computer software systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in estimating or quantity surveying
  • Experience with estimating software and systems
  • Knowledge of construction laws and regulations
