About the Opportunity

Foremost is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paint Shop Lead Hand to join our team at our Grande Prairie facility in Hythe, Alberta. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our painting facilities, ensuring the highest quality standards are met and our team is equipped to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

∙ Assign and prioritize work to ensure efficient completion of tasks and meet quality standards

∙ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with quality control standards and construction specifications

∙ Operate and maintain all equipment associated with painting, insulating, and sandblasting, including hand-held spray equipment

∙ Train and develop new hires, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively

∙ Instruct apprentices in trade-specific procedures and equipment operation

∙ Ensure adherence to WHMIS and environmental regulations regarding hazardous chemicals

∙ Apply resins, solvent drying paints, and blasting materials to fabricated products

Requirements:

∙ Journeyman Industrial Painter trade certification or equivalent experience

∙ Minimum 5 years of experience in painting, coating, and insulating

∙ Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience

∙ Knowledge of tank, vessel, and pipe coating

∙ Excellent communication and conflict management skills

∙ Ability to lead and motivate staff
