Job Title: Chemical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Technologist to join our team at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL). As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses, sample collection, and preparation, as well as mentoring junior staff in best laboratory practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine chemical analyses of environmental samples using established procedures.
  • Collect and prepare samples for analysis, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Mentor junior staff in laboratory procedures and best practices.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to optimize work schedules and instrument analysis times.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized institute of advanced technology or equivalent formal education in a field relevant to the position.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a laboratory environment involving chemical preparations and analyses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in laboratory information management systems and analytical equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
