Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Engineer to join our Mine Planning Team in Calgary. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating 12-week integrated mine plans, 24-month rolling forecasts, and project schedules for ongoing projects. You will also facilitate weekly and monthly meetings to communicate the mine plan to key stakeholders and provide technical guidance to surveyors, mining technicians, and drill & blast engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date mine plans, including 12-week integrated mine plans and 24-month rolling forecasts.
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly meetings with key stakeholders to communicate the mine plan and provide updates on project progress.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to surveyors, mining technicians, and drill & blast engineers.
  • Collaborate with the Mine Planning Team to develop and implement mine scheduling, drill and blast designs, and open pit designs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Contribute to the development of company policies and procedures related to mine planning and operations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in mine planning and operations, preferably in an open pit mine or project environment.
  • Professional engineering designation is desirable.
  • PMP certification or experience in project scheduling and execution is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of general mining safety requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Additional Information
