Position Summary:

The roles of Safety Watch and Spark Watch are crucial for the effective execution of turnaround projects, emphasizing quality and safety. This temporary position involves participation in a pulp mill turnaround project, ensuring that all safety protocols are meticulously followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections to mitigate flammable risks.
  • Perform safety monitoring, hole watching, atmospheric evaluations, spark/fire surveillance, and gas detection.
  • Oversee emergency zones, recognize potential hazards, and enforce safety measures.
  • Collaborate efficiently with the site team to ensure seamless operations.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Carry out additional relevant tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • No previous experience necessary; comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Steel-toe footwear is essential.
  • Participation in a full-day training session is required.
  • Availability for approximately 7 days of work is expected.
  • Local residency is a prerequisite.
  • Personal transportation is required.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and standing for prolonged periods.
  • Strong communication skills and a dedication to health, safety, and environmental standards are essential.
