This role is integral to the operational success of the organization and encompasses a variety of responsibilities. A fully qualified Technician is expected to perform tasks related to the cleaning, assembly, disassembly, inspection, balancing, airflow, and testing of gas turbine engines in accordance with manufacturer specifications and organizational protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and organized workspace
  • Complete all necessary documentation associated with the tasks performed
  • Disassemble engines as required
  • Assemble main engines, modules, and all sub-assemblies
  • Conduct tests on engines and components
  • Prepare engines for delivery
  • Demonstrate behaviors that align with quality, health and safety, and environmental management standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary education or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education or relevant work experience is advantageous
  • Prior experience as a Mechanic is beneficial
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in using computers and software applications
  • Ability to utilize basic hand tools
  • Competence in handling precision measuring and torqueing instruments

Work Environment Considerations

Candidates should be aware that this position requires:

  • Physical fitness and sufficient strength to safely handle all components requiring processing (using available hoists, without risk of personal injury or damage to the components)
  • Willingness to navigate various areas of the facility throughout the workday

Weight Handling Requirements: Must be capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.

Tools and Equipment: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and any other required protective gear for task performance.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions: The role involves a combination of standing, pulling, bending, crouching, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, grasping, sitting, working with computers, operating a forklift, and utilizing specialized tools.

Worksite Environment: The position may involve working in a shop environment with humidity, chemicals, and odors.
