About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Marksmen Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of buildings, bridges, and other structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts and ensure compliance with building codes using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations to promote diversity and inclusion
  • Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
