Job Title: Lead Driller and Coring Technician

ACS Testing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Driller and Coring Technician to join our drilling and coring team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating geotechnical windowless sampling drilling rigs and coring rigs, undertaking geotechnical sampling, coring, and in-situ testing, and installing geotechnical and geo-environmental monitoring equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate geotechnical windowless sampling drilling rigs and coring rigs
  • Undertake geotechnical sampling, coring, and in-situ testing
  • Install geotechnical and geo-environmental monitoring equipment
  • Maintain company drilling rigs, equipment, and vehicles to a high standard
  • Follow company operational and health and safety procedures
Requirements:
  • Experience using windowless sampling rigs and/or trailer coring rigs
  • NVQ qualification in Land Drilling (or willing to work towards at ACS)
  • Strong communication skills to follow written and spoken instructions
  • Willing to work throughout the UK and stay away overnight as contracts demand
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Personal motivation, organisation, and self-management
  • Possess a clean driving licence, ideally with 3 years' driving experience including towing
  • Relevant CSCS card
Benefits:
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Core working hours: 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday
  • Overtime working when necessary
  • 25 days per annum plus Bank Holidays
  • Salary: subject to qualifications and experience
