About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Funder to join our team at First National, Canada's largest non-bank lender. As a Mortgage Funder, you will play a critical role in instructing, advancing, and closing mortgage files.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify solicitor entitlement and ensure accuracy of information
  • Prepare and send instructional packages to solicitors, along with relevant documents
  • Follow up with solicitors to obtain advance requests and ensure timely completion of files
  • Organize mortgage files in the correct order and check requests for funds from solicitors
  • Send mortgage advance sheets to the accounting department and ensure compliance with regulatory and company guidelines
  • Escalate any documentation issues to the Mortgage Underwriter and/or Manager for review
  • Coordinate with mortgage accounting for the release of mortgage funds on a timely basis
  • Respond to inquiries within established turnaround times and adhere to AML requirements
Requirements
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods
  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Competency in MS Office and capacity to learn new technologies/systems
