We are seeking to enhance our team within the Landscape Maintenance division by recruiting an Irrigation Technician who possesses the expertise and experience to oversee a designated route.

This role is full-time and available throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute installation of irrigation systems, perform service and repairs, manage system openings and closings, and provide low voltage lighting services and repairs.
  • Conduct spring start-ups, seasonal adjustments, and winterization of irrigation systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify irrigation system issues (including replacing sprinklers and fixing leaks).
  • Test completed irrigation systems to ensure proper operation of valves and timers.
  • Utilize both hand and power tools, and perform hand trenching as necessary.
  • Work autonomously during service calls.
  • Engage with clients to maintain their systems and address any inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Organize and maintain sufficient inventory of parts in the company vehicle.
  • Ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and within the required timeframe.
  • Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment and demonstrate awareness of safety hazards.
  • Participate in training sessions and commit to continuous learning (including the pursuit of certification as a Certified Irrigation Technician - CIT).
  • Safely operate the company vehicle while maintaining a clean driving record.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are crucial for success in this role.
  • Complete time-sheets, service documentation, and other daily paperwork as required.
Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience as an Irrigation Service Technician.
  • In-depth knowledge of irrigation products, specialized tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Possession of a valid class 'G' driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to acquire new skills to improve job performance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in plumbing or copper soldering is advantageous but not essential.
