Position Overview
Reporting to the Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager, the Lead Financial Consultant will play a crucial role within the financial reporting division, engaging in a variety of professional accounting functions. This includes the analysis and reporting of financial outcomes, as well as assisting in the preparation of financial statements for audits.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

  • Independently analyze financial outcomes and collaborate with Managers of designated Programs or Business Units to interpret and present the financial implications of operational decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements by providing data-driven insights to facilitate decision-making and track results.
  • Review existing processes and implement necessary changes to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality information reporting.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and conduct balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that adjustments are made as required.
  • Examine and analyze monthly financial results for the assigned portfolio, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Research and draft briefing notes on complex accounting matters.
  • Compile monthly and quarterly financial summaries for distribution to Senior Leadership, elucidating and analyzing significant variances.
  • Review, analyze, and present results for Programs and Business Units.
  • Conduct comparative analyses against budget and historical data.
  • Identify key operational drivers and perform benchmarking analyses.
  • On an annual basis, prepare external financial statements and coordinate with departments to compile notes and supporting schedules.
  • As needed, prepare and analyze cash forecasts, providing recommendations to maintain key liquidity ratios.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and implement process improvements as necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve bank discrepancies.
  • Record daily and weekly bank activities in the general ledger.
  • Innovate new methods for data collection and analysis.
  • Participate in special projects or committees as required.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to streamline current operations.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A recognized accounting qualification (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA) with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in financial analysis, process improvement, and treasury-related functions.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach with a strong sense of accountability.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively to deliver comprehensive financial analyses with in-depth insights.
  • Demonstrated logical and creative problem-solving skills, transitioning from information to insights to actionable items.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication abilities across all management levels.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • A proven track record of satisfactory work performance and attendance.
