Your Role

BDO Digital is seeking a recent graduate for the position of Data Analytics Consultant/ Data Engineer to become part of our expanding client-facing team on a full-time permanent basis. The selected candidate will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Play a crucial role in our delivery practice as we execute enterprise-level client engagements across various industry sectors.
  • Interact directly with clients to drive the implementation and ensure a successful end-user experience of analytics solutions; collaborate with the client and delivery team to meet applicable milestones and deliverables within budget and timelines.
  • Design and develop industry-specific data models for client projects in sectors such as Natural Resources, Finance, Manufacturing and Distribution, and Retail.
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers to enhance data models and improve query efficiency; create complex data queries to support ad hoc and exploratory analytics.
  • Develop real-time data capture and transformation capabilities across all products and build out the technology stack for Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing.
  • Cleanse data: review for inconsistencies and identify opportunities to enhance the data collection process; Transform data: convert raw data into more valuable formats for analytics.
  • Design, construct, test, and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale data processing systems; create and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
  • Utilize various languages and tools (e.g., scripting languages) to integrate systems.
  • Recommend or develop data visualization and business intelligence tools, such as interactive dashboards and automated reports, to empower leaders to make informed, fact-based decisions.
  • Stay updated on current and emerging development technologies to deliver cutting-edge analytics solutions for our clients.

Your Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, computer science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficient experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing client requirements.

Ideally, You Also Possess:

  • Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server Analytics stack, including Core SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Programming experience in Python.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Source Control systems (e.g., Gradle, Maven, Bamboo, TeamCity, Git).
  • Data Visualization experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Experience with the Apache Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Data Lake, Hive, HDFS, Impala) for addressing big data challenges.
  • Exposure to data science, machine learning, or statistics.
  • Some experience with Docker.
  • Understanding of ETL, ELT, Lambda, and Kappa data architectures.
