Position Overview:

As a part of our progressive program, the Physiotherapist I will play a vital role in assessing patients and crafting, executing, and reviewing personalized treatment plans that adhere to established professional standards. This role involves maintaining thorough treatment documentation, participating in treatment team discussions, and overseeing the activities of therapy assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

In the capacity of Physiotherapist I, you will deliver therapeutic interventions aimed at helping clients attain optimal physical function and independence amidst various challenges, including developmental issues, chronic conditions, and functional decline. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Conducting prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, and goal-setting activities.
  • Implementing treatment and management strategies while providing education and consultation.
  • Encouraging active participation from clients and their families in the care process.
  • Collaborating with patients and families to identify, implement, and assess suitable rehabilitation methods.
  • Engaging in interprofessional teamwork to enhance service delivery and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to the professional community through peer mentoring and supervising students.
  • Providing clinical oversight to Therapy Assistants and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution is essential, along with current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certification in CPR (BLS for Health Care Providers Level C) is mandatory. The role demands physical capability to assist patients with various functional tasks, particularly those with complex needs. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are crucial, as is the ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative within a collaborative interdisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in brain injury rehabilitation, particularly a minimum of six months, is highly regarded.
