About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Counsel, Commercial Contracts to join our team at Trench Canada. As a key member of our Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance on all legal matters related to sales, procurement, claims, disputes, corporate, and other areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable processes, directives, policies, contracts, and laws.
  • Provide guidance and improve legal & commercial practices, processes, templates, tools, policies, and directives.
  • Drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents.
  • Support the business in all legal and contractual matters, including claim management and dispute settlement.
  • Define targeted T&C's and ensure transparency of T&C's and related risks in the organization.
  • Manage all corporate affairs of Trench Canada.
  • Collaborate with the Global Compliance Officer on all compliance matters.
  • Manage engagement of external law firms.
  • Design and deliver legal training to the business.
Requirements
  • University degree in law with a focus on contract or business law.
  • Qualified to practice law in Canada; additional legal experience in the US is an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages, especially Portuguese, is an asset.
  • At least 3 years of in-house experience, ideally at an industrial manufacturing company.
