Community Reporter Opportunity

Black Press Media's Comox Valley Record is seeking a skilled journalist to cover a wide range of news, features, arts, culture, and sports in the Comox Valley area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality written content in a multimedia environment.
  • Produce clean, readable, and engaging copy that meets the standards of CP Style.
  • Develop a strong understanding of breaking news reporting and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and be willing to learn and adapt.

Requirements:

  • Strong writing and videography skills, including shooting and editing.
  • Ability to multitask and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital publishing and the ability to execute meaningful storytelling.
