Giving What We Can (GWWC) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Country Director to lead the growth of effective giving in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our presence in the country and driving transformative change in global philanthropy practices.
Key Responsibilities- Cultivate and broaden the community of effective givers in Canada, fostering a culture of generosity and impact.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance effective giving, including fundraising initiatives, donor management, and philanthropic advising.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the effective giving and effective altruism communities to synchronize goals and initiatives, promoting a unified approach to creating positive change.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of GWWC in Canada, ensuring alignment with global strategies and initiatives.
- Engage with the Canadian community and media to strengthen GWWC's presence and influence, promoting our mission and values.
- Work closely with GWWC staff to promote organizational effectiveness and efficiency, driving growth and impact.
- Demonstrate a deep passion for and commitment to the growth of effective giving.
- Bring experience in philanthropy, fundraising, strategic marketing, sales, or related fields.
- Exhibit a founder's mentality, capable of operating autonomously across various domains.
- Have a robust understanding of the effective altruism movement and/or the landscape of effective giving.
- Possess management or leadership experience.
- Show excellent command of English, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to forge and maintain relationships.
- Be independent, self-motivated, with a proven track record of setting and implementing their own strategies.
- Be a team player, adept at collaborative work in a dynamic environment.
- Hold working rights in Canada and be able to travel regularly both domestically and internationally.
- A competitive salary range of CAD $104,300 — $136,100, depending on experience, seniority, and location.
- A flexible and autonomous work environment, fostering innovation and creativity.
