About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Developer to join our Product Stewardship team in Brampton, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing new ingredients for product improvements on our existing product line that meet the sales, financial, regulatory, quality, engineering, operational, and customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and test new ingredients and formulations to meet customer expectations and solve production or operational challenges.
  • Provide technical support to processors, customers, and production teams by preparing finished product samples, attending meetings, conducting trials, and making presentations.
  • Document and maintain formulations, ingredient documentation, processes, shelf life, and testing results.
  • Collaborate with Sales Account Managers, customers, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Procurement, and suppliers to deliver business objectives.
Requirements
  • Background in Food Science and experience in the food processing industry, specifically in product design and development.
  • Experience with ingredient and processing knowledge related to food starches, gums, clean label alternatives, sauces, fillings, and nutritional bar layers.
  • Ability to balance ingredient effectiveness, sourcing, and costs to fit budgets, timelines, and demand.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including creating documentation, generating reports, and articulating changes and reasoning to internal and external stakeholders.
