POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to an AME-E Shift Lead, the Licensed AME-E serves as a certified Avionics Technician responsible for executing both line and heavy maintenance tasks. This includes the installation, inspection, testing, adjustment, and repair of avionics systems and related wiring on aircraft, ensuring safety and efficiency. This role is stationed at our Kelowna (YLW) facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The AME-E is expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas under varying levels of supervision:
Technical Competence
Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems, including autoflight, navigation, communication, instrumentation, and electrical systems. Conduct basic inspection tasks, ensuring compliance with Service Bulletins, ADs, and Aircraft standards, while assessing electrical and electronic components for malfunction diagnosis. Execute aircraft modifications with minimal guidance, following documentation such as Service Bulletins and Engineering Orders, and perform post-modification testing to confirm functionality. Carry out general installation, testing, adjustment, and repair of avionics systems, utilizing appropriate documentation for guidance. Sign off on personal work and the work of others where qualified. Safely operate all ground support equipment. Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and other maintenance personnel. Complete assigned tasks efficiently and take ownership of work quality. Ensure installations are completed with minimal rework.Documentation & Compliance
Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation for personal work, submitting it for necessary approvals. Source technical information from maintenance manuals as required. Adhere to M3 processes and procedures accurately.Safety Practices
Implement safe work practices in all job functions, including:
Utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Understanding and applying the Risk Management System. Complying with Health & Safety Policies. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in work areas. Following safe handling practices with aircraft. Applying Lock Out/Tag Out procedures effectively.Mentoring and Development
The AME-E utilizes their technical expertise to train and develop apprentices in Technical, Safety, and Documentation areas by:
Clearly communicating necessary information and assessing understanding. Being approachable for questions and guidance. Serving as a resource for company information. Modeling professional conduct and a customer-oriented approach.Tool Management
Adhere to the KF Tool Control policy as outlined in the Production Manual.QUALIFICATIONS
Certification & Experience
AME-E Transport Canada license (preferred). Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Avionics AME. Radio Operator License. May need to obtain Ground Operating License (AVOP's).Skills
