Corporate Actuarial Planning Analyst

Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Corporate Actuarial Planning, the Intermediate Analyst will play a crucial role in the efficient execution of data gathering and analysis related to the corporate financial planning initiatives of Definity Financial Corporation and its insurance affiliates. This position requires collaboration across various departments, fostering strong working relationships with teams in Finance, Risk Management, Claims, Pricing & Analytics, as well as regional offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize professional expertise in spreadsheets, databases, and statistical software to gather and organize data for planning and exposure analysis.
  • Oversee the maintenance and updates of the corporate planning tool during planning and reforecasting cycles.
  • Generate analyses that support the assumptions integrated into the corporate planning tool.
  • Create reports and analyses that measure and track exposure metrics.
  • Effectively communicate essential concepts and findings related to the responsibilities outlined above.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Completion of 3 to 5 examinations from the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • 1 to 2 years of pertinent full-time experience in property & casualty insurance planning, financial modeling, pricing, or reserving.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient programming skills, particularly in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, VBA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SAS, Tableau, Python, or R is considered an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Collaborative team player, adaptable to a fast-paced and evolving workplace.

Compensation: Salary range is $59,400 - $118,100.
