About the Role

Prairie Sky School Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompany students during school and extracurricular activities, providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Assist students individually or in small groups with assignments, reinforcing learning concepts under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the school principal, ensuring the smooth operation of the classroom and school.
  • Supervise students during school and extracurricular activities, maintaining a safe and respectful atmosphere.
  • Monitor students during recess and lunch hour, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist students with integration into the classroom and school setting, promoting a sense of belonging.
  • Assist with classroom inventory, ensuring the classroom is well-organized and equipped.
  • Monitor and report student progress to the classroom teacher, providing valuable insights into student development.
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Food allergy and anaphylaxis training.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • Experience working with special needs children, including autistic children, children with ADHD or ADD, and children with learning disabilities.
  • Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an urban area, with a fast-paced environment and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The role requires the ability to lift between 45 and 60 kg.
