Health Records Clerk

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Health Records Clerk to join our team at Bella Coola General Hospital. As a key member of our health records management team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with health information policies and procedures, and providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including admission, discharge, and transfer documentation
- Process and verify patient information, including demographic and clinical data
- Ensure compliance with health information policies and procedures, including confidentiality and security protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services

Grade 12, plus one (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal with others effectively. Ability to organize work. Ability to operate related equipment. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
