We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. in Hamilton. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures, preparing patients for scans, and maintaining equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures independently, adhering to CMRITO, MOH, and CNSC regulations.
- Conduct examinations in accordance with KMH's protocols, policies, and procedures, and report any issues or complications to the Team Lead.
- Apply independent judgment and critical thinking during examinations to ensure accurate data capture.
- Prepare, assay, and administer radioactive materials to patients, and instruct or aid patients during procedures.
- Maintain equipment, medical devices, and cameras in accordance with department standards, and ensure examination rooms are properly supplied and equipped.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and other KMH staff to provide patient care.
- Attend team meetings and updates, and maintain continuous professional development in Nuclear Medicine through self-study, courses, or seminars.
- 1 year of work experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist is an asset.
- Completion of recognized education in Nuclear Medicine.
- Knowledge and proficiency of Nuclear Medicine procedures and operating regulations.
- Current registration in good standing with CMRITO (College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario) and CAMRT.
- Experience with PET is an asset.
- Proof of Professional Liability Insurance.
- CPR certification.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (MS Word and Outlook).
- Experience with EMR systems.
- The ability to provide coverage at another KMH West lab is an asset.
