We are seeking a qualified educator to join our team as a Mathematics Instructor, Science Educator, and Secondary Teacher at Port Hardy Secondary School.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics 9, Science 8, and Science 9 to secondary level students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in academic training, qualifications, and recent successful experience teaching secondary level Math and Science.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to promote student learning and achievement.
• Collaborate with staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

Requirements

• Completion of a Bachelor of Education.
• Certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification Branch.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to work with multi-age groups.
• Strong interest in innovation and inquiry.
