We are seeking a skilled and experienced Intermediate Developer to join our delivery team responsible for shipping our Shopify theme catalog. As an Intermediate developer on our Shopify themes team, you will be involved in the development process from start to finish, helping to plan, build, and test new features from the ground up to ensure we deliver the best possible product to our merchants.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume the responsibilities of an Intermediate Developer, actively participating in software development tasks and technical projects.
- Collaborate with other developers to ensure code quality, stability, security, performance, and maintainability of the software being developed.
- Work closely with leads and designers, providing technical insights to inform product planning and design.
- Collaborate with the Support team to identify, debug, and resolve defects in the software.
- Stay connected with the team to help identify and address any issues or challenges early on, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Act as a technical resource, providing guidance and mentorship to team members when they encounter challenges or require assistance.
- Dedicate time to explain the reasoning and background behind technical decisions, facilitating the learning and growth of team members.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in software development with a heavy front-end focus.
- An excellent understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
- A strong technical background and experience with modern technologies.
- Strong knowledge of front-end technologies including Liquid, CSS, and JS, and GitHub for source control and CI environment.
- A good understanding of web accessibility and WCAG standards.
- Experience with the Shopify ecosystem is a strong asset.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus.
