Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $24.80/Hr. - CAD $24.80/Hr.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Community Health Support Specialist to contribute to the well-being of our clients and assist in their care journey.
This role is part of a comprehensive training initiative designed to equip candidates with the necessary skills to register as a Care Aide with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry.
The program entails a commitment of approximately 1.5 years, during which successful candidates will be expected to work 37.5 hours weekly, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. Additionally, candidates may engage in health care support work for a limited period prior to commencing the educational component, which typically spans eight months. Post-graduation, employees are obligated to fulfill a Return of Service Agreement for a duration of 12 months.
Funding will cover 100% of wages, tuition, and educational materials throughout the training program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or another licensed healthcare professional.
- Provide a range of non-clinical healthcare support services to clients, residents, families, and visitors in various settings, adhering to established care plans and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
- For applicants with three years of full-time English instruction: English 10 completion or equivalent. For those with less than three years, a standardized English language proficiency test score may be required.
- A valid BC Driver's License is necessary for local travel (specific regions only).
Skills & Competencies:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with others.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Physical capability to perform the duties required by the position.
- Proficiency in operating relevant equipment.
Additional Information:
The work schedule, including days off and work location, may vary based on operational needs and the applicable Collective Agreement. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
