About the Role

CMLS Financial is seeking a skilled Commercial Lending Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for analyzing credit applications and submissions, providing timely and proactive support to ensure thorough underwriting and funding of commercial mortgages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough due diligence and investigation to gain a solid understanding of the borrower, analyzing and interpreting financial data and credit information, assessing the value of security, and underwriting commercial mortgage presentations within the guidelines of lending policies and procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing interaction with internal stakeholders to ensure thorough underwriting and funding of the loan.
  • Work as part of a team in the completion of mortgage presentations, meeting pre-funding conditions and investor instructions to meet all funding requirements within tight deadlines.
  • Stay current with market information and commercial mortgage market trends.
  • Perform other duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job, such as preparing reports, assisting with compliance-related tasks, and completing department projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Approximately 1 year (or more) of experience working in the Commercial Real Estate Risk industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Experience creating and delivering business presentations and strong technical writing skills.
  • Results-driven and possess strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Take ownership of work and demonstrate a high degree of accountability and commitment at all times.
  • Completed an undergraduate degree in one of the following concentrations: finance, economics, urban land development, accounting, or business administration.
  • Intermediate/advanced level user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Passion for real estate combined with an understanding of financial and statement analysis.
