Speech Therapist II

About the Opportunity:

This is a multi-site position based out of a community health services site. The role provides speech language pathology services in a community health services site and a healthcare centre. The position offers a great backdrop for a fulfilling career in a rural setting.

Job Summary:

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team. You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination, and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals, and other partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical professional practice independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Provide prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management.
• Participate in the planning, coordination, and delivery of rehabilitation services.
• Supervise students and provide clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate.
• Use clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certification in Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year experience in a rural setting is preferred. Experience with preschool populations and working in a multi-disciplinary team is preferred. Generalist experience with dysphagia, childhood apraxia of speech, stuttering, and voice and resonance are preferred.
