About the Role:

As a Service Worker I, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care at Alberta Health Services. This position requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service, working collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, and prioritizing tasks to meet the needs of patients, residents, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site.
  • Distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units.
  • Clean equipment and patient care areas as directed.
  • Transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts.
  • Report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within a highly complex interdisciplinary team.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Integrating critical thinking and sound judgment.
  • Time management skills.
  • Adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Porter in the Emergency Dept.
  • Knowledge of hospital procedures and equipment operation.
  • A valid WHMIS certificate is an asset.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with Connect Care.
  • Trained in the "Move Safe" ergonomic program and the "It's Your Move" client handling program.
