Role Summary

WHAT IS THE ROLE?

As a Senior Performance Testing Engineer, you will take charge of crafting and executing performance assessments for both Mobile and Web applications. Collaborating closely with the development team, you will gain insights into the technologies involved and develop/load, stress, and endurance tests to evaluate system performance. You will partner with project teams to formulate the Performance Test Plan and associated testing artifacts, determining the scope, timeline, and sequence of testing activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop comprehensive performance test plans for various projects/programs, specifying the types of performance evaluations such as load, stress, failover, and endurance tests required.
  • Collaborate with business and project teams to establish workload models derived from non-functional requirements.
  • Design performance test scenarios and scripts aligned with the workload model.
  • Conduct performance tests and oversee their execution.
  • Analyze and present the outcomes of performance tests effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to established processes for storing test results, tracking defects, and verifying defect resolutions while supporting project metrics tracking.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with over 8 years of professional experience in Quality Engineering or development.
  • Proficiency in analyzing non-functional requirements related to performance and security across agile and non-agile projects.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with various performance testing frameworks/tools (e.g., MicroFocus LoadRunner, JMeter), load generators, and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace).
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming concepts and proficiency in at least one OOP language (e.g., Java, C#).
  • Practical experience in developing production workload models and coordinating test environments to conduct performance tests that closely mimic production scenarios.
  • Expertise in mapping performance testing environments to production setups.
  • Experience with diagnostic processes and tools such as Dynatrace and AppDynamics in non-production settings to identify performance bottlenecks early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Proficient in utilizing service virtualization for performance testing.
  • Experience with mobile-ready performance testing tools and relevant protocols, including 'True Client' protocols.
  • Strong understanding of source control with experience in git commands.
  • Ability to analyze complex business ecosystems to comprehend business logic and processes, including data attributes and business rules.
  • Familiarity with software delivery methodologies, frameworks, and best practices (Agile, Iterative Waterfall) as well as DevOps operations and the integration of testing into the DevOps pipeline.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to focus, prioritize, and resolve complex technical challenges.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in configuring load generators while utilizing Performance Center.
  • Knowledge of the k6 tool.
  • Familiarity with Helios pipeline creation and GitHub actions.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and OpenShift architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of the banking business domain.
