Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is seeking a highly skilled Ice Instructor to join our team. As an Ice Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and implementing program content and for the instruction, coaching or coordination of intermediate sport programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement program content for intermediate sport programs
  • Provide instruction, coaching or coordination of intermediate sport programs
  • Supervise and coordinate staff as required
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 11
  • Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience in sport specialty area
  • Experience in staff supervision and program coordination
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
  • Appropriate certification in the relevant recreation/sports program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Educational background in Recreation or related field
  • Knowledge of City of Ottawa Policies and Procedures
  • Demonstrated awareness of Safety/Security of programmes
