Job Title: Deckhand - Fishing Vessel

We are seeking a skilled Deckhand to join our team at North Delta Seafoods Ltd. as a key member of our fishing vessel crew.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deck Maintenance: Ensure the deck is clean and well-maintained, including cleaning and sorting fish, and stowing catch in the hold.
  • Fishing Gear Maintenance: Repair nets, splice ropes, and maintain fishing gear and other deck equipment.
  • Cooking and Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals for crew members.
  • General Deckhand Duties: Assist with preparing nets, lines, and other fishing tackle, and operate fishing gear to catch fish and other marine life.
Requirements:
  • Commercial Fishing Licence: Must hold a valid Commercial Fishing Licence.
  • Training and Experience: Will train, but previous experience in the fishing industry is an asset.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication on board.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
