The Student's Society of McGill University (SSMU) has been serving over 20,000 members since 1908, focusing on student representation and providing essential services.
Role Overview
*PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN UNPAID POSITION*
Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, the Committee is tasked with ensuring that the Board of Directors, the Judicial Board, and Elections SSMU are sufficiently staffed throughout the academic year.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Evaluate applications and select suitable candidates for positions within Elections SSMU, the Judicial Board, and the Board of Directors;
- Oversee the allocation of the Society's awards and nominations when not specifically managed by another Committee or the Legislative Council;
- Provide reports to the Board of Directors following each meeting.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet BOTH of the following criteria to be eligible for the Member at Large position on the Nominating Committee:
- Must be a Member of the Society;
- Members of the Nominating Committee are expected to be available for a commitment of 12 months.
Considerations for Selection:
- Background in student governance;
- Involvement with various clubs, services, events, and projects on campus.
Additional Information
- Position Type : Volunteer, unpaid
- Hours : As needed, with meetings scheduled on an ad-hoc basis
