Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our Building Division team at the City of Mississauga. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Building Code Act and Ontario Building Code in relation to HVAC systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of buildings and structures to verify compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of inspections and investigations
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide information on building codes and regulations
  • Investigate complaints and take necessary action to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with other Building Division staff and external agencies to achieve common goals
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC design and/or construction
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Qualifications as referenced in Division C Section of the Ontario Building Code
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service
  • Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with a 35-hour workweek. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. A valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle are essential for this role.
