About the Role

PORMEX CARPENTRY LTD is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpentry Assistant to join our team. As a Carpentry Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our carpentry team in the completion of various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials.
  • Material Handling: Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, and assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance work and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Machine Operation: Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, and direct traffic at or near construction sites.

  • Mentorship Programs: Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities, newcomers and/or refugees, youth, Veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.
Work Environment
