About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mining Engineer to join our team at Newmont's Brucejack operation. As a key member of our Technical Services group, you will play a critical role in supporting short-term planning and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain short-term mining plans based on 3-month forecasts
  • Monitor and assess adherence to short-term plans, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Collaborate with engineering and geology teams to ensure grade control and plant quality feed requirements are met
  • Conduct data analysis and provide insights to inform short-term planning decisions
  • Develop and maintain a management information system to track key performance indicators
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and other staff members

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BSc. degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or equivalent education
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a GIT/EIT or P.Geo/P.Eng with EGBC
  • Advanced computer skills, including AutoCAD, Deswik, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
