Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Transit Driver to join our team at First Transit Canada. As a Transit Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining the appearance of the interior of the bus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a transit vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong attendance record and perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist passengers with disabilities, including those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
  • Notify dispatch of any deviations, accidents, or mechanical issues, and complete written reports as necessary.
  • Operate on-board computer destination signs and assume any other duties assigned.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Class BZ or CZ driving license, clear driver abstract, and background check.
  • First Aid certification and transit experience an asset.
Working Conditions

As a Transit Driver, you will be subject to various working conditions, including:

  • Wet, cold, and/or hot environmental conditions.
  • Vehicle noise and vibration.
  • Vehicle exhaust fumes and odors, road dusts, and mist.
